JPL/CNEOS Fireball Impact Telemetry
Government sensor recordings of real atmospheric meteor airbursts and bolides
This database records actual atmospheric impact events (fireballs/bolides) detected by US government optical and infrasound sensors worldwide. Every event displays its geographic location, burst altitude, velocity, and total radiated energy converted to kilotons TNT using official CNEOS equations.
1 kiloton TNT = 4.184 × 1012 Joules. Familiar comparisons are strictly computed via fixed documented conversion brackets against historical benchmarks: quarry detonations (<0.05 kt), small airbursts (0.05–0.5 kt), Hiroshima energy equivalent (15 kt TNT), and the Chelyabinsk superbolide event (440 kt TNT).
